Relevant Cargo Information

  • Freightforwarders

As of August 1, 2012, TAM international flights originating in Brazil, will be sold by ABSA and flights to Brazil, will be sold by LAN Airlines, using block space agreements between the companies.

As of July 16, 2012, reservations for these international flights (August 1 onwards) should be made as follows:

    - Contacting ABSA for flights departing from Brazil. Reservations will be made using ABSA air waybill (549) under the agreed commercial conditions.
    - With LAN CARGO, for flights originating outside of Brazil. The air waybills to be used will be those of LAN Airlines (045) under the agreed conditions.

It is important to note that for flights scheduled as of August 1, TAM air waybills (957) must not be issued, as these will not be accepted.

Existing customers of TAM CARGO, will automatically be recognized as LAN CARGO and ABSA customers. We will analyze all customer contracts and negotiate new commercial conditions.  The current Fuel and Security Surcharge policy of the issuer of the air waybill will apply.

The commercial contact information in the cities served is available on the respective websites.

The integration of websites will be done in stages. We have included links to access TAM routes on the websites of LAN CARGO and ABSA and vice-versa, as a way to facilitate customer inquiries. At first, tracking of shipments must be done on the respective websites.

In relation to the distribution physical or numerical air waybills and credit terms, we inform that:

    - The corresponding Credit Department, as of July 2, 2012, will contact you either directly or through CASS to provide numerical or physical air waybills, to replace the TAM air waybills (957) that you may still have in your stock.
    - Credit terms you had with TAM will remain in effect until the corresponding credit department conducts relevant evaluations.

As a way of keeping you informed about the details of the operation and / or new processes, a section with integration information has been created at www.lancargo.com.

  • Airlines

Recently the association between LAN Airlines SA (LAN) and TAM Linhas Aereas SA (TAM) was completed to create LATAM Airlines Group Inc. This is a very important milestone for us and will generate significant benefits for our customers.

We have begun the process of integrating the cargo business, which in some respects could generate changes in the way we work with your company. We understand that to make this process as friendly as possible, we must keep those involved informed. Here we point some of the most important aspects.

Effective August 1, 2012, TAM international flights, originating in Brazil, will be marketed by ABSA and flights to Brazil, will be marketed by LAN CARGO on behalf of LAN, through block space agreements between the companies.

From July 16, 2012, reservations for cargo bookings on TAM international flights departing on or after August 01, should be made as follows:

    - For flights ex Brazil, contact ABSA.
    - For flights originating outside of Brazil, contact LAN CARGO.

Effective August 01, transfer manifests issued to TAM AIRLINES will not be accepted anymore and need to be issued to LAN CARGO or ABSA, as stated below:

When tendering an international shipment in Brazil, transfer manifest must be issued to ABSA, regardless if AWB has a domestic or international destination.

When tendering and international shipment outside of Brazil, transfer manifest must be issued to LAN Airlines.

    Interline agreements are as follows:

If your company has a current Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) with LAN, LAN CARGO or ABSA, it remains in effect.

In the absence of an interline agreement with ABSA, LAN or LAN CARGO, but in existence of one with TAM, then the prevailing conditions will be the latter. Later, a new interline contract between the parties will be negotiated, which will take effect as agreed.

The commercial contact information in the cities served is available on the respective websites.

Collections via Direct or Clearing House will be implemented by LAN or ABSA (depending on to whom the transfer manifests are issued).

The integration of websites will be done in stages. We have included links to access TAM routes on the websites of LAN Cargo and ABSA and vice-versa, for your convenience.  At first, the tracking of shipments must be done on the respective websites.

As a way of keeping you informed about the details of the operation and / or new processes, a section with information on the integration has been created at www.lancargo.com

We hope to further develop our business relationship and thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this integration process.
